Mortal Kombat Head-Canon

I had posted these on Twitter, but...fuck Twitter now.
So, I'll post them over here—my personal interpretations of Mortal Kombat's lore and particular characters that are canon to me. Maybe you'll agree with some or all, maybe you won't...that's why it's head-canon.

Okay, ramblers...let's get rambling....

 #1:

When Sareena was banished to the 5th Plane of the Netherealm, Drahmin personally oversaw her torture. She's still traumatized by her time there.

#2:

Tanya requested Jade be kept alive when Shinnok took Edenia in Mortal Kombat 4. She wanted her to join them, but Jade stayed loyal to Kitana. Tanya still resents this.

#3:

Scorpion's face operates like the curse in the first Pirates of the Caribbean. As long as he has the mask and hood on, he has a face. When he removes the mask, it's a skull.

#4:
Kitana never fully believed Mileena was her sister. It was her introduction that sparked the search that led Kitana to discovering the truth about Edenia.

#5:
Kitana and Skarlet were friends when they served Shao Kahn. Kitana tried to convince her to turn during Mortal Kombat 3. Unlike Jade, Skarlet refused.

#6:
Kabal just happened to see Sareena while he was in the Netherealm and instantly fell in love. Sareena, however, has no idea who the hell he is or what he wants.

#7:
Johnny Cage's ex-wife was the one who started the rumors that he's a phony.

#8:
Shao Kahn put the idea in Kitana's head that Sindel abandoned her by committing suicide to make her more devoted to him. Although Kitana understands the truth now, Sindel is still haunted by it.

#9:
Sareena and Frost have met, though briefly, and they don't like each other. Frost sees her as a threat, and Sareena suspects she can't be trusted.

#10:

Kitana did convince Rain to turn on Shao Kahn during Mortal Kombat 3. But due to selfishness, pettiness and cowardice, he didn't stay with the Earthrealm warriors and fled back to Outworld when chance came.

#11:

During the big final battle of Mortal Kombat 3, Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang) fought Shang Tsung. He was victorious, helping turn the tide in Earthrealm's favor, but Tsung escaped before he could be killed.

#12:

Upon learning Shao Kahn favored the Centaurs, Sheeva abandoned her post and deliberately allowed Kitana a clear path to confront Sindel in Mortal Kombat 3.

#13:
Of all his servants and slaves, Sareena was Quan Chi's favorite. This only added to her desperation to escape him.

#14:
The original timeline still exists, and Kitana's Mortal Kombat X ending came true. She survived Armageddon, united the realms again Shao Kahn, defeated him, and now lives in relative peace.

#15:
Expanding on the previous...realizing Kitana was the realms' last hope, the Elder Gods made her their Champion in order to have the strength she needed against the stronger than ever Shao Kahn.

#16:
Though severely wounded, Sub-Zero survived Armageddon. He would've died, but was found by Sareena who got him to safety and nursed him back to health. He participated in Kitana's final war against Shao Kahn.

#17:
Despite his being a god of Edenia, Kitana holds no reverence for Argus. She doesn't know him, and what little she does know, she doesn't like.

#18:
In the original timeline, Kitana did genuinely hope Mileena could be reformed. Unfortunately, Mileena could really get under her skin and easily piss her off. Hence moments like her Mortal Kombat Gold ending.

#19:
Tanya in the original timeline was a narcissistic sociopath only out for herself. Jade, however, was the one person she allowed herself to care about. Which is why she regards Jade's dedication to Kitana a personal betrayal.

#20:
During his time in the Brotherhood of the Shadow, Reiko grew fond of Sareena and didn't like how Quan Chi treated her. He also didn't know Shinnok "killed" her. Now that he's back with Shao Kahn, he isn't aware that she's still alive.

#21:
Shao Kahn in the original timeline did genuinely care about Kitana (in his own demented way) and wanted her at his side. Her betrayal wounded him deeply.

#22:
Adding to that, it wasn't just Mileena's deformity. Kahn decided she could never replace Kitana in his eyes.

#23:
In the original timeline, Tanya never cared about Mileena, much less loved her. She only saw her as an insecure and easily manipulated mark. She felt the same way about Rain, too.

That's all I got so far. Nothing profound to say. These are just my takes on the story.
If any more come up to me, I'll update this page.

Have a good one.
